Reflecting its unwavering commitment to the public, the Teatro Pérez Galdós Canary Islands’ Foundation has incorporated drama into its programming for this season, which will get underway with a prime example, as indeed its title suggests. Galdosiana, originally by Fernando Méndez-Leite, is based on the feminine characters from the novels of Benito Pérez Galdós.

Cristina Higueras, Fiorella Faltoyano and Amparo Alcoba are to play the chosen characters (Doña Perfecta, Gloria, Tristana…), while David Sentinella adds his support by interpreting all the men that cross paths with them in their many different lives.

The actresses will recount the lives of their chosen characters and actually change roles on stage. Some will transform into others, while playing the simultaneous role of narrators, characters and actresses and interacting with the audience.

In staging this event, the Teatro Pérez Galdós intends to pay tribute to the famous writer from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria one month before we commemorate the ninetieth anniversary of his death.
