Miguel Poveda is to perform in the Teatro Pérez Galdós on Saturday 31st March

El cantaor (Flamenco Singer) is to offer an intimate concert accompanied with Juan Gómez Chicuelo (guitar) and Joan Albert Amargós (piano)

The cantaor Miguel Poveda returns to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to perform in the Teatro Perez Galdós on Saturday 31st March at 20:00 hours. The tickets can already be purchased from the ticket office, the link below, the telephone 902 488 488 and on www.entradas.com.

This time the artist is going to offer an intimate concert accompanied by his colleagues Juan Gómez Chicuelo (guitar) and Joan Albert Amargós (piano) and will perform some of the pieces recorded in Coplas del querer, as well as some poems and some of the most representative flamenco folk songs, all of which performed with total dedication to music and poetry.

The Poveda/Chicuelo/Amargós team creates magic in its concert, above all due to the complicity of working together for more than 10 years. With This wealth of experience, we are taken on a journey through the world of Flamenco, copla (popular folk song), poetry and tango, a journey through the world of Miguel Poveda with two outstanding accompanists.

Miguel Poveda was a shy child who listened to copla and flamenco on the radio and from his mother’s records in the intimacy of his bedroom, where he had created his world in a musical universe with the coplas of Quintero, León and Quiroga and the old masters of flamenco, with voices such as Antonio Mairena, Manolo Caracol, Tomás Pavón, La Perla, La Paquera de Jerez, La Niña de los Peines, Juan Varea, Rafael Farina or more current masters such as those of Camarón de la Isla, Enrique Morente, Chano Lobato, to name but a few of those who completely pervaded his increasing cantaor spirit.

This young performer has already worked together with renowned artists such as Mariza, Isabel Pantoja, Martirio, Noa and Pasión Vega in his already extensive career. He was nominated for the third time as Best Flamenco Album in the Grammy Latino Awards 2009 for his CD Coplas del querer, for which he achieved Platinum CD for having sold more than 60.000 copies. In 2010 he was awarded with three Music Awards for the same CD: Best Album, Best Album (Spanish Language) and Best Musical Arranger, for Joan Albert Amargós.
